Early Life and Educational Background

Ali Nuhu was born on March 15, 1974, in the northern part of Nigeria. He is the son of Nuhu Poloma of Gombe State and Fatima Karderam Digema of Borno State. Ali grew up in Kano. The basis of Nuhu’s scholarship was laid at Dawakin Tofa Science College in Kano State.

From there, he proceeded to the University of Jos for a BA in Geography. His quest for knowledge led him to study specialized courses in filmmaking at the Asian Academy of Film and Television in Noida, Delhi, and then advanced Transmedia Storytelling at the University of Southern California.

He also learned acting from Camera at Los Angeles Center Studios.

Acting Career

Ali Nuhu started acting when he was invited to make his maiden appearance in the film titled  “Abin Sirri Ne” in 1999. He starred in the film Sangaya, which became one of the highest Hausa home video sales at the time. He then flourished in bought-out videos and sequels like Azal, Jarumin Maza, and Stinda.

His role in Stinda won him the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award in 2007 at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. Celebrating his 20th anniversary in 2019 since stepping into the world of entertainment, Nuhu has been featured in more than 500 films, which basically portrays his versatility and commitment to the craft.

Personal Life
